Request account & data deletion
You can request deletion of your CoPlan account and the personal data associated with it at any time, whether or not you still have the app installed.
How to request deletion
The quickest way is in the app itself: open Settings → Account → Delete my account, and confirm. If you no longer have the app installed, send a deletion request from the email address linked to your CoPlan account to [email protected] with the subject line "Delete my CoPlan account". Include the name of your household so we can locate your records.
What gets deleted
We will delete your profile and personal data (name, email, contact details, notification tokens) within 30 days of a verified request.
Because CoPlan is a shared household app, some data is jointly owned by you and your co-parent — for example the custody schedule, shared expenses, and entries involving your children. If you are the only member of your household, the entire household and all of its data (including children's profiles, schedule, expenses, and documents) will be deleted. If another parent is still active in the household, we will remove your personal account and access, but will keep shared household records (schedule history, expense ledger, child profiles) intact for the remaining parent, consistent with their own need to retain custody and co-parenting records.
Retention
Some information may be retained beyond deletion where required for legal, billing, or fraud-prevention purposes (for example, payment records required by South African tax law), for the minimum period required by law.
